Over 350 Donated items from all branches of the military.  Digital photo albums are highlighted in the 21 LED lit display cases from veterans of Van Zandt County.

In 2020 a Board Committee was formed to Catalog the Museums military artifacts. In 2022 the Committee began the task of digitizing and computer logging of the Museums entire collection.  The Committee encourages and welcomes military artifacts from our veterans and their families.  The Museum will accept donations and on loan items to include in their inventory on a case by case basis.  The Veterans Memorial hopes to enlarge its collection and museum space in the near future.

GREAT stories  like a B-24 NIGHT SNOOPER from VZC and a waistegunner who flew 50 missions during WWII.  The story of a boy comes home from Wills Point,  the 50 caliber machine gunner at the Battle of the Bulge.  The story of Calvin Graham, a 12 year old boy who joined the Navy and fought on the USS South Dakota. A movie was made about his life.  A bugle taken from a Japanese guard at the Bataan Death March, a local Army Veteran and former Mayor who escaped from a WWII Prison camp in 1945, and much more.  A MUST SEE museum if you are interested in military history.

Hours for our Museum are currently Tuesday – Friday 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.  ADMISSION IS FREE.  

The Van Zandt County Veterans Memorial Museum is a 501c3 Non profit organization and welcomes donations to the Museum.
